Looking at

edible tubers

in a new light

In my most recent, and ongoing work I teamed with Edible Issues to work on Roots to Resilience, a collaborative exploration of indigenous tuber crops in India. Drawing from the socio-cultural, agricultural and scientific insights drawn from our field work, I produced a set of 3 unique A0 size artworks as Cyanotypes on archival paper. This project explored the conventional boundaries of agriculture and art, seeking to unearth the connections between people and these underground wonders.

Food access & diabetes

I led ethnographic field work in Denmark, USA and India studying families from different social backgrounds and their food habits. The incidence of life style conditions, diabetes and its co-morbidities were analysed with food access, availability and culinary practice.

Managing weight loss

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

On time Delivery-What can shipping learn from food systems?

A very fascinating project for Maersk Line going beyond just studying the Dabbawala System. I could analyse how can other delivery and logistics systems learn from indigenous food delivery systems and what different communities tolerate as “being on time”. Delivering food in a metropolis on time everyday and feeding a people who prize a piping hot lunch - it turns out, is hardly a simple task.

Feeding off the grid

Understanding the production, supply and access networks childhood nutrition in rural India was the main objective of this project. Through field work in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra I helped map the systemic challenges in providing daily meals in Government run primary schools in the region. This was used to inform design and technology intervention to help manage the reliable re-distribution of food with a focus on nutrition reaching the actual beneficiaries - the children.
